Constance M. Bourgette

LEWISTON – Constance M. Bourgette, 85, of Lewiston, passed away on Nov. 9, 2022, at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion.

Born July 23, 1937, to Francois Morin and Noemie (Rancourt) Morin. She was the youngest of five children. Constance grew up in the tenement building she was born in on Knox St. She attended Lewiston Schools, graduating in 1956. Connie, as she liked to be called, moved briefly to Connecticut after graduation. It was there that she met her future husband, Normand A Bourgette.

Connie and Norm enjoyed 8 years of marriage until Norm’s death in January of 1966. As a single mother Connie worked hard to provide for her family by working in the shoe-making industry for many years. She was both mother and father to her children, and successfully provided them with a good life full of family, memories, and love.

After spending many years as a single mother, Connie found love and joy again with her partner Michelle. Together they spent 30 plus years raising and celebrating their combined families. They enjoyed playing bingo, cards, and creating many works of art in the form of counted cross stitch. Connie also spent many weekends with her sister and best friend Madeleine. They could be found either playing cards, shooting the breeze or singing.

Connie was predeceased by her husband Normand, her mother and father, brothers Henry, and Raymond, sister Madeleine, her partner Michelle, and her son Charles.

Connie is survived by daughter Rachel and her husband Joe, grandchildren, April, Alyssa, Jacob, and Brysen, great grandchildren, Corey, Eric, and Abbigail, as well as her brother Edouard.

The family wishes to extend a heart-felt thank you to the staff on 4 East of D’Youville Pavilion for their years of dedication and care for Connie. They also wish to thank the nurses, CNAs, and Pastor at Beacon Hospice Care.

Private services will be held at a later date.
