Fair

BETHEL — After two years with alternative Christmas Tea events, from Christmas in a Bag to Christmas in a Bag plus crafts and tiny treasures, the Christmas Fair and Tea is going to happen in person at the West Parish Congregational Church in Bethel (32 Park Street). It is scheduled for Saturday, December 3 from 1 – 4 p.m.

This is a great way to start the holiday season, sitting and enjoying a cup of tea, coffee or hot cocoa and nice treats while visiting with others in the community. West Parish Congregational Church is sponsoring a craft table, food table, and tiny treasures table downstairs.

Sharon Lyon and Ellen Marshall are in charge of the tea portion (upstairs). Diane York and Gretchen Motts are in charge of the food table downstairs, including cookies in a bag, replacing the cookie walk. Lynn Mason and the World Service Committee are in charge of the tiny treasures. Linda Davis and Melinda Remington are in charge of the crafts table.

Concert

BETHEL — On Sunday, December 11 at 4 p.m. in Gould Academy’s Bingham Auditorium, the Mahoosuc Community Band will perform a Christmas concert. Mahoosuc Community Band is joined with Gould Academy music students and under the direction of Jim McLaughlin. The exciting part of this change in venue and conductors is the inter-generational sharing of music between adults and Gould students.

The community band rehearses Monday nights at the Gould Academy music room in Bethel from 6:45 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The band resumes rehearsals January 9, 2023. New members are always welcome. The opportunity to enjoy music lasts through the years. Many members played in high school and stopped. The group encourages less experienced musicians to share the love of music.
