100 Years Ago: 1922

The two-day bazaar held by the Lewiston-Auburn Business and Professional Women’s Club in the Chamber of Commerce rooms was largely attended and every table practically sold out. Before evening of the first day two tables were cleared but one of them, the candy and food table, was renewed the next day.

At Monday evening’s meeting the State President, Mary Arleitte Penney, will be the guest of the Club and will speak at 7.45. There will be the usual supper at 6.30 and a community sing at 7.30.

50 Years Ago: 1972

Ten members of the local Jewish Community Center Tweens traveled to Portland Friday for an all-day session which included horseback riding, a hayride, athletic games and recreation and a pizza party. Guests of the Portland JCC Tweens were Michael Barr, Gary Plavin. Ronnie Shems, Susan Ross, Karen Rubenstein, Rebecca Cohen, Donna Minsky, Wendy Shapiro and David Miller. Paul Jesser, Center director, accompanied the young people.

25 Years Ago: 1997

(from a Sun Journal photo) GOOD THINGS COME IN THREES: Heather Pelletier gave birth to a set of triplets on Oct. 29 at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. The girls, Kristyn, Kirstyn and Kaitlyn, were expected to leave the special delivery ward of the hospital early this week.
