Minot school 6th grader named RSU 16 student of November

The Tri-Town Optimist Club of Mechanic Falls, Minot and Poland, has named Elliot Colon its Regional School Unit 16 Student of the Month recipient for November.

Colon, a sixth grader from Minot Consolidated School, is described by his teacher and principal as a quiet student leader who always sees the best in others. His cheerful enthusiasm and commitment to self-improvement both in and out of school personify the qualities of the Optimist creed, according to a news release from Jenny Rose, RSU 16 Adult Education director and McKinney Vento homeless liaison.
