BETHEL — At the Nov. 16 Selectboard meeting, town officials voted to hold a special town meeting on Wednesday, December 7, at 5 p.m. at the Town Offices. The content is mostly budgetary. “It’s so we don’t end up at the end of the fiscal year over budget,” said Town Clerk Darren Goyette.
There are 15 items, most are budgetary, some are for salary increases. There are this many because there are items for each town department: fire department, public works, etc. The high cost of heating fuel is mainly to blame for the overruns, according to officials.
