Rose Butler
AUBURN – Rose Butler, 82, daughter of Paul and Anita (Pinette) Moore, died Dec. 3, 2022, following a long illness. She was born on Nov. 21, 1940, in Lisbon.
She married the love of her life, Roland E. Butler, on April 15, 1961; and he died on April 29, 2002. Together they enjoyed over 40 years of marriage and had four children.
Her family was her pride and joy. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She and Roland valued education and family. She cherished the times her family gathered together. She really enjoyed the holidays and the fun, loud, competitive game nights – usually playing Hearts.
Rose was an exceptional cook. Her home-cooked meals, whoopie pies, rum balls, and vanilla frosted chocolate cake was loved by all of us. When she was well and the grandchildren came to visit, she always insisted on feeding them. She also had a green thumb and was a great tailor.
Rose is survived by her son David Butler and his daughter, Caroline; her son Daniel Butler and his wife Debra and their children Allyson, Ashley, and Cole; and daughter Suzanne Butler and her wife Nicolette McGinley. In addition, she is survived by three sisters and three brothers. She was predeceased by her husband, Roland, and son, John.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home at 305 Alfred Plourde Parkway, Lewiston, Maine (207-784-4023). Funeral Services will be private with immediate family.
