RUMFORD — The Board of Directors of Community Dental announce the sale of the Community Dental Rumford Center, previously slated for full closure in November, to Bangor Children’s Dentistry. The new practice, operating under the name Rumford Children’s Dentistry, will offer pediatric dentistry to children under twelve in the Rumford area.
“Closing the Community Dental Center in Rumford was a very difficult decision for our board, driven by challenges in recruiting a permanent dentist to that location,” said Kathleen O’Donnell, board president of Community Dental, “The emergence of Bangor Children’s Dentistry as a buyer was a very welcome development since this will preserve much-needed access to dental care for kids in the Rumford area – especially for those with MaineCare.”
“In addition to continued access to dental care for children, we are pleased that several of our Rumford staff will join the new practice,” said Kate Hopkins, CEO of Community Dental. “This means patients will see some familiar faces when Rumford Children’s Dentistry opens later in December.”
For appointments and other information, Rumford Children’s Dentistry can be contacted at 207-974-3018.
