DEAR SUN SPOTS: On Saturday, Nov. 19, my sister went to the Edward Little High School Christmas Fair where she found two beautiful Christmas ornaments. The one she gave me is green with angel wings and reads, “I have an angel in heaven, I call him my husband.” I have been so touched by it.

I was wondering if Sun Spots would know who the artist is who made them. If not, I do hope this person reads Sun Spots and either contacts you or calls me as my sister-in-law wants one of these ornaments, too. Please call me at 784-8388. If you need to, leave a message and a call back number and I will call you as soon as possible. Sun Spots, you are so awesome! — Rose, Lewiston

ANSWER: If you are the creator of these special ornaments please call Rose AND write to me so I can spread the word. If any of the fair organizers or crafters at this fair have information and can help, please let me know. I would love for Rose’s sister-in-law, or anyone else who is interested to have an ornament, too.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: SeniorsPlus, Western Maine’s designated Area Agency on Aging, seeks volunteers to assist with a new program, Opening Minds through Art. This program strives to bring joy, art and pride to people living with dementia and Alzheimer’s in our community.

Weekly, for six weeks, at our Wilton, Norway and Lewiston offices, people with dementia (the artists) are paired one-on-one with trained volunteers who help them create art using imagination instead of memory.

SeniorsPlus seeks volunteers to work one-on-one with participants in these art classes. No art background is required. To volunteer, or to enroll a loved one as an artist, please contact SeniorsPlus, at 795-4010, edcenter@seniorsplus.org. — Jessica, Lewiston
