NORWAY – Harriett Grover Brown, 100, of Norway passed peacefully on Dec. 15, 2022, at Norway Center for Health and Rehabilitation, her home for over nine years. She was born Dec. 12, 1922, in Stoneham, Maine. She was the daughter of the late Sarah and John Grover Sr. She grew up on a farm with five siblings.

She graduated from Norway H.S. and Buffalo General Hospital as an RN. She was licensed and practiced nursing in NY, PA, WI, ND and ME. She married Dr. Ralph Brown in Greensboro, NC. They had a daughter Bobbie Anne. Ralph and Harriett were world travelers. They enjoyed renting small planes and photographing landscapes for Ralph’s college classes.

Harriett was predeceased by her husband Ralph, daughter Bobbie Anne, brothers Douglas and William in WWII, brother John Jr., sister Stella and brother in law Narven Johnson, sister’s in law Louise and Joan Grover.

She is survived by a brother Lyndon and Jean McAllister of Norway, Maine and a son in law Fred Abbott of Illinois. She was a proud grandparent of Sarah of Illinois, Fred and wife Simone of Germany, three great grandchildren Jacob, Elijah, Zachary and wife Katlin all of Illinois. Plus two great great grandsons Lincoln and Rohan.

Harriett was an avid football fan and reader. Thank you to Dr. Harbage for decades of loving care and everyone at Norway Center for taking such good care and Constellation Hospice for their compassionate support.
