Friends of RSU 16, a group comprised of school and community members for Poland, Mechanic Falls and Minot, on Dec. 9 recognized Don and Suzie Stover of Poland for their support and advocacy for Regional School Unit 16 students and programs.

Appreciation was also expressed for their positive community impact, according to a news release from Amy Hediger, assistant superintendent of RSU 16.

Suzie Stover was a third-grade teacher at Elm Street School in Mechanic Falls and continues to support literacy through preschool story hours and volunteer tutoring. Don has been a member of the Poland Conservation Commission and a  supporter of land preservation and outdoor recreation.
