Madisyn York is Regional School Unit 16’s student of the month for December, as announced by the Tri-Town Optimist Club of Mechanic Falls, Minot and Poland.
York, a sixth grader from Elm Street School in Mechanic Falls, is described by school staff as a student who exemplifies the Optimist creed. She comes to school with a smile and genuine enthusiasm for learning every day, according to a news release from Jenny Rose, RSU 16 Adult Education director and McKinney Vento homeless liaison.
York finds motivation in challenges and is a confident, positive role model, Rose added.
