POLAND — A male driver died Monday morning after his vehicle struck the back of a tractor-trailer parked beside Harris Hill Road and burst into flames, according to the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office.

His identity will be released Tuesday after family are notified, the Sheriff’s Office statement said.

County deputies and Poland Fire Rescue Department responded to the 7:40 a.m. call. The driver was pulled from the burning vehicle and died at the scene, according to the statement.

Harris Hill and Hackett Mills roads were closed while officials investigated the crash. It reopened around noon.
