Gerard R. Lajoie
SABATTUS – Gerard R. Lajoie of Sabattus passed away on Jan. 2, 2023, at Russell Park Manor after a long battle with dementia. He was born in Lewiston on March 21, 1953, to Laurent and Rejane Lajoie. He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1971. On July 12, 1974, he married Elaine Doyon Lajoie who survives him. He is also survived by his children and their spouses, Kimberly Zyndorf (Derek) and Kelly Field (James) and his three granddaughters, Alivia, Addison and Hazel. Also surviving him are his brother Paul Lajoie (Paula), sister Carol Parker (Steve) and their families. He also leaves behind his sisters-in-law, Diane Nadeau, Maggie Doyon and Karen Lajoie; brothers-in-law, James Doyon (Vivian), David Doyon and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and brother Daniel Lajoie, brother in law Paul Doyon, and sister-in-law Denise Bonk.
Gerry worked construction most of his life until his most recent employment with the Lewiston Public Works where he retired from. Throughout his life he participated in many sports and outdoor activities. He was an active member of the Webber Ave Social club and previously served as their president. He always looked forward to his yearly golfing trips to Sugarloaf with his friends. He will certainly be missed by all that knew him.
At his request there will be no services. Details regarding a celebration of his life to follow.
