“The Julia and Nan Birthday Hotel: The Best Worst Pandemic Birthday Ever,” by Linda Andrews Submitted photo

Are you stuck at home because of a challenging situation but want to celebrate a child’s birthday in style? Read what Nan and Julia did to make it fun.

Linda Andrews, author of “Please Bring Soup To Comfort Me While I Grieve,” has released her first children’s book, “The Julia and Nan Birthday Hotel: The Best Worst Pandemic Birthday Ever.”

Linda (Nan), started a tradition of taking each of her granddaughters on a hotel adventure when they entered double digits. Her youngest granddaughter, Julia, turned ten in 2020. When the pandemic threatened to affect their family tradition, they had to get creative. “The Julia and Nan Birthday Hotel” shows how creative they got and how it was “The Best Worst Pandemic Birthday Ever.”

Author Linda Andrews and illustrator Autumn Banks will be joined by the book’s star Julia for a book launch from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, at Quiet City Books in Lewiston. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and to have a book signed as well as an activity for the kids.

Quiet City Books is located at 124 Lisbon St., Lewiston. For more information about Andrews and her writing, visit lindalandrews.com.
