LEWISTON – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Antoinette (Tony) Arel. She passed away peacefully on Christmas day with family by her side. She was born Oct. 24, 1937. She was the daughter of Adelard and Antonia (Gauthier) Roy.

She is survived by her children, Joline Arel and partner Ron, Donald Arel and wife Celine, and Andre Arel and partner Shirley. She had multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by two brothers, Real and Fern (Louise) and two, sisters, Cecile (Roger) and Yvonne. She was predeceased by her husband Paul, three sisters and five brothers.

She worked all of her life in textile industry making shoes and purses. Most of her co-workers knew her as “Tony” including many friends at the local Bingo halls. She enjoyed going out to eat and hanging out by the pool with family.

Public committal prayers will be held at St. Peters Cemetery Chapel, 217 Switzerland Road, on Jan. 19. 2023, 11 a.m.
