Floyd P. Macomber Jr.
DIXFIELD – Mr. Floyd P. Macomber, Jr., 92, of Dixfield died peacefully on Jan. 21, 2023.
He was born on Sept. 13, 1930, the son of Floyd P. Macomber, Sr. and Bernice G. (Frost) Macomber. He graduated from Dixfield High School in 1950. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked in the machine shop of Diamond National Co. in Peru, for several years.
As promised to his dad in 1973, Floyd served as guardian to his younger brother until his passing in 2018.
Floyd would like to be remembered as someone who tried to do his best throughout his life and hoped that everyone would agree and he would like country music classics to be played.
Floyd is survived by his sister, Patricia M. Sargent of Dixfield; and nephew, Robert “Ditty” Haynes.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Ruth Haynes, a sister, Blandine Macomber and a brother, Mark Macomber.

Graveside services will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery in Dixfield in the spring. Arrangements are under the direction of the Meader & Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., Rumford.
