PARIS — The general assistance director for the town of Paris sent out a Facebook message, asking if anyone in the community had a cord of firewood for a member of the town in need as that is one of his primary sources of heat.

The Oxford Hills girls varsity basketball team reached out and offered not only a cord of firewood but to deliver and stack it for him.

They came to his house in multiple vehicles, unloaded the wood, and stacked it. He was beyond grateful and the girls and coaches did it with smiles on their faces and laughter, which made him smile.
