AUBURN — Boston Caldwell scored 23 points and dished out five assists as Central Maine Community College kept the Albany College of Pharmacy at bay and rolled to an 84-76 victory in a Yankee Small College Conference men’s basketball game Saturday.

The Mustangs (16-4, 11-2 YSCC) jumped out to a 42-30 lead at halftime, with DeMarco McKissic helping out with his 16 points.

Brett Richards scored 28 points for the Panthers (3-16, 1-11). Myles Washington and Edgard Matias each scored 16 and 17 points respectively.

UMF 90, MMA 54: The Beavers (15-7, 11-1 NAC) pulled away in the second half to roll past the Mariners (9-13, 4-8 NAC) in Castine.

Terion Moss, Jack Kane and Kyle Donlin each poured in 17 points for University of Maine at Farmington, which led 41-30 at halftime. Zachary Mickle added 12 points.

Connor Tuerff (13 points), Markus Ramirez (11) and Curt Heinz (10) each scored in double figures for Maine Maritime Academy.

COLBY 99, BATES 78: Noah Tyson scored the team-high 19 points and Max Poulton added 16 as the Mules (16-5, 3-4) rolled to a victory over the Bobcats in Lewiston (7-15, 1-7).

Brady Coyne led Bates with 17 points, Jahmir Primer scored 15 and Trace Gotham added 11.

MAINE 84, UMBC 49: Gedi Juozapaitis scored 13 of his 22 points during a 22-2 run to open the second half, and Maine earned its most lopsided conference victory in 24 years with an 84-49 win over UMBC in an America East men’s basketball game Saturday afternoon in Orono.

It’s the fourth win in the last five games for Maine (10-13, 4-6 America East), and its largest over an America East opponent since a 91-56 victory over New Hampshire in the 1998-99 season.

The Black Bears led 38-26 at halftime, then broke it open in the first eight minutes of the second half. Their largest lead was 40 points.

Kellen Tynes added 14 points, five assists and five steals, Ja’Shonte Wright-McLeish scored 13 points, and Peter Filipovity had 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Dion Brown was the only player in double figures for UMBC (15-10, 5-5), finishing with 19 points.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
MAINE MARITIME 78, UMF 49: Maria Barela tossed in four of her six 3-pointer attempts and scored the team-high 21 points to lead the Mariners (2-19,1-11) past Beavers (16-5,11-0) in Castine.

Lauren Plissey dropped in 16 points and Erianna Moore added another 11 for MMA, which built a 44-24 lead by halftime.

UMF’s Maddy White scored the game-high 23 points and Jacqui Hamilton had 12.

BATES 68, COLBY 55: Meghan Graff dropped in the game-high 19 points and Alexandra Long supplied 16 points and six assists in the Bobcats ‘(10-10, 3-5) win over the Mules (8-12, 3-5) in Waterville.

Colby’s Caroline Smith and Lydia Mordarski each scored 13 and 12 points respectively.

UMBC 74, MAINE 57: Adrianna Smith scored 33 points and grabbed nine rebounds, but the Black Bears (12-10, 8-2 America East) fell behind early and lost to the Retrievers (10-12, 7-4) in Baltimore.

Kiara Bell had 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead a balanced attacked for UMBC.

Caroline Bournemann had 12 points for UMaine.
