OXFORD — Oxford selectmen approved the license applications for two renewing cannabis operations and one start-up last Thursday.
The select board voted to approve the licenses for adult use cannabis retailer Oxford Provisions, LLC and medical marijuana grower Lance Persson who operates Bog Brook Botanicals, LLC. A new business, Renewal Gardens, LLC also had a license application for an adult use cultivation facility.
In other business, Code Enforcement Officer Kingston Brown reported that Oxford’s tighter property maintenance ordinance is proving successful.
“We’re making lots of headway” on problem properties, Kingston told selectmen. “Many owners are taking care of issues themselves. The ordinance is working.”
In his report, Town Manager Adam Garland said that reaction to a proposed kids’ summer recreation program has been favorable.
“We’ve had 45 inquiries since we began advertising,” he told the board. “We’ve been pleased with the response.”
Garland added that most of the advance registration calls have been from community members, but enrollment is open to families residing outside of Oxford as well.
