100 Years Ago: 1923

The regular meeting of the Y.W.H.A. was held Sunday evening, with good attendance. Plans were made for a minstrel show which is to be held March 20. The committee in charge are Sarah Roggles, May Ward, Fannie Stackovitz, Mollie Gurevitz, and Annie Miller. The cast will be announced later, and Mrs. Heth will be the coach.

Mrs. H. Isaacson, Mrs. B. Isaacson and Alice Miller were appointed a committee for arrangements for a masquerade dance for; Feb. 22. The hall was prettily decorated for Valentine Day and 16 new members were initiated at this meeting.

50 Years Ago: 1973

The Association of Universalist-Unitarian Women is sponsoring a style show and card party to be held in the vestry of the First Universalist Church, Auburn, on March 14 at seven o’clock. Mrs. Norman Gellatly is general chairman.

25 Years Ago: 1998

(from a Sun Journal photo) Central Maine Technical School student Matt Hoyt of Windham hones a cut to perfection at the school in Auburn Tuesday afternoon. The first-year carpentry student was mastering the craft of exterior trim.
