OTISFIELD — A band of faithful Otisfield volunteers has organized to offer families a fun and free day at Otisfield Winter Carnival 2023, to be held at the Community Hall. Adults and children are invited; children must be accompanied by an adult. The Winter Carnival offers Carnival games, entertainment, a community lunch, make-and-take crafts, cookie decorating, and the classic Cardboard Sled Race, topped off with an Italian Dinner! What is not to like?

On Saturday, February 25, the Carnival kicks off at 10 a.m. with inside Carnival games, complete with prizes. Outside games will be from 10-1:30. New to the docket, Andrew Silver of the Silver Circus will entertain with juggling, magic, and physical comedy from 12-1. The Community Lunch takes place during part of this period as well (12:15-1:30) so you may be entertained while you eat and still have time to catch up with friends and neighbors. Lunch is provided by Spurr’s Corner Church, the Social Outreach Committee, and the Dyer family.

At the Town Office Annex from 1-2:30: Make and Take Crafts and Cookie Decorating is overseen by the East Otisfield Free Baptist Church.

At 2 p.m. at the Town Office Annex, Registration for the Cardboard Sled Race takes place.
2:30 Classic Cardboard Sled Race: This is always fun to see as creativity and ingenuity flourish.
And finally, from 4:30-6:30, an Italian Dinner will be served at the Community Hall. Donations will benefit the Town Office Playground and Winter Fuel Assistance.

Every three years, Noreen Edwards digs up her perennial garden and gets others to do the same to raise money so the Winter Carnival can be free. Even so, donations are always appreciated by those who are able. For more information, please call Noreen at 627-7033.
