To the Editor:

I am proud of my town. Vern Maxfield and the Town of Woodstock shared a plow truck with the Town of Peru. The Town of Peru had a devastating fire on Thursday night, January 26. It destroyed the highway department building and trucks. As you know, winter weather doesn’t wait. So Vern Maxfield called up the town officials and offered to share one of the town’s plow trucks. He said the town had a plow truck in reserve in case of needed maintenance of existing highway trucks.

Mahoosuc Way is much more than the words to come to our area and respect our environment. It is more than asking tourists and visitors to understand our values. For our town manager, Mahoosuc Way is much more than talk. It is cooperating with other towns in our region. This time Vern and our selectmen and highway department did the right thing by sharing equipment when another nearby town was in need. The state has also shared two plow trucks with Peru. I am proud of my town and my town manager.
