Kenneth M. Chase Sr.

LISBON FALLS – It’s with great sadness that the family of Kenneth M. Chase, Sr., of Lisbon Falls, share of his passing, on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023.

Ken was born, in Lewiston, to Fred and Elsie (Beal) Chase, on Nov. 21, 1946. He was raised in Lisbon Falls, as the youngest of 11 children. He graduated from Lisbon High School in 1965, where he enjoyed playing the trumpet and singing, in school and church.

Later he married Constance (Shores), on Oct. 10, 1998 and they shared a great life together, before her passing, in April of 2002.

After graduating, Ken worked on the chicken farm for his uncle, Cecile Sherman, while also working at the Gypsum Mill. He then enlisted in the Army National Guard, where he served full time active duty, in the 133rd battalion, for 26 years. He became employed with the Lisbon School Dept. for 20-plus years, enjoying driving school buses. Ken served on the Lisbon Police Dept., for several years, as a Reserve Officer. He also enjoyed working at the Kitty Korner and Hogan’s Good Time Lanes, in Lisbon Falls.

Ken was an active member in his community. He was a member of the American Legion, ODD Fellows, Pomona Grange, the State Grange and the Mason’s.

More than anything, Ken loved to spend time with his family. He mostly enjoyed driving his grandchildren around and attending their sports games, where he loudly cheered them on.

Ken was a big New England sports fan. He loved listening and watching Elvis Presley, old Westerns and Hallmark Christmas movies. He was a member of the Bath Municipal Band and enjoyed playing the bass drum for Kitty Korner, in the Moxie Festival Parade. He also loved playing cribbage and card games.

He is predeceased by his parents; wife, Connie; six brothers, Ralph Jr., Stanley and Lawrence Judd; Howard, David and Daniel Chase; and grandson, Ryan Moore.

He is survived and deeply missed by four daughters, Laurie and Norman Martin, Julie and Dale Moore, Jr., Sherry and John Bailey; their mother, Kathryn (Sherman) Chase; Jessica and Andrew Hoyt; son, Kenneth and Rachael Chase, Jr; their mother, Debi (St Pierre) Chase; and six stepchildren. He’s survived by four siblings, Margaret Waters, Pat and Frank Jordan, Dale and Tina Chase and Elsie Samson. He’s also survived by 29 grandchildren, with one on the way; and 15 great-grandchildren, with one on the way.

Kenneth was loved and admired by all that knew him. He will be deeply missed!!

The family invites you to a time of visitation on Friday Feb. 24 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. immediately followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. at the South Lewiston Baptist Church, 1919 Lisbon Rd., Lewiston.
