100 Years Ago: 1923

A joint meeting of the Auburn City council, the Planning Board and members of the high school committee of the Board of Education conferred Wednesday afternoon, with Frank Irving Cooper, a Boston architect, who presented plans for the proposed addition to Edward Little High School and for remodeling the present structure.

Mr. Cooper was commissioned to draw plans several months ago, and previously presented partial drafts. Wednesday, however, blueprints were in the hands of the committee. It was not expected that any definite action will be taken today. The meeting today was held in the office of H.H. Randall, superintendent of school in the Auburn City Building,

50 Years Ago: 1973

A brotherhood brunch is being planned by the Sunday School classes at the First Universalist Church on Sunday when each child will take as his guest a child of a different nationality or religion. Richard Varney will speak on the topic “Brotherhood and What It Means” and Dijay Sharma of India, an Auburn Maine School of Commerce student, will speak about his country.

25 Years Ago: 1998

“Laughter on the 23rd Floor,” will be presented at the Schoolhouse Arts Center. Show times are Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 pm.
