Paula Ann (Richardson) Smith

BUCKFIELD – Paula Ann (Richardson) Smith, 70, of Buckfield, passed away on Wednesday Feb. 22, 2023, at Maine Medical Center in Portland with her loving family by her side. She was born Sept. 7, 1952, in Bridgton, a daughter of the late Louis and Virginia (Shaw) Richardson.

Paula attended and graduated from the Bridgton school system. She was employed as an office professional at Maine Apple Growers for 17 years and then the billing department at CN Brown until she retired.

On Nov. 1, 1980 she married the love of her life Richard Smith, and together they raised their four children. Paula was always known for putting others’ needs before her own. Paula loved going on picnics with her husband and kids, card nights with her sister Penni, camping at Two Lakes, beach days, enjoyed cooking for her family, attending her kids and grandchildren’s sporting events, spending time at her home in Florida, going to Disney and riding the roller coasters, and the numerous family vacations, but Paula’s greatest joy was spending time with her family.

She was predeceased by her loving parents, Louis and Virginia Richardson and her sister Penni.

Paula is survived by her best friend and husband of 44 years Richard Smith. Daughter Michelle and husband Keith Moxcey of Sumner, Son Michael Smith and significant other Crystal Small of Livermore, Son Matthew Smith of Buckfield and son Marc and wife Megan Smith of Buckfield. Paula was the best Nana to Nichole, Amber, Donovan, Ayden, Riley, Addison, Rachel, Mallory, Madalyn, Molly and five great-grandchildren. Brothers Danny and wife Denise Richardson, Kenton Richardson, Jon and wife Caryl Richardson, and Bard Richardson.

In keeping with Paula’s wishes a graveside service will be determined at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Chandler Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 45 Main St South Paris Maine.
