BUCKFIELD – Robert Joseph Cogswell, born July 26, 1947, passed away peacefully in his home in Buckfield on Feb. 15, 2023. Bobby was predeceased by his mother, Barbara May Cogswell, his brothers, Gene and Brian Rumery, sister Sue Ann Lowe, son Justin Cogswell King, and nephew Daniel Rumery.

 

He is survived by siblings Donna Garces and her husband Ramone “Poncho” Garces, Daniel Rumery and his wife Judy, Lois Lowe, sister-in-law Sandy Rumery; daughter Shelly Brewer, her daughter and four sons, and three grandchildren; daughter Bobbie Jo Hodgkins, her fiancé Randall Pike, granddaughters Dezirae Hodgkins, Hailey Chapman, Bailey-Jean Pike, great-grandson Rhodri Farrington; daughter Alexis Deschaine and husband Stephen; daughter Harley Cogswell and her partners; son Brent Cogswell and his wife Catherine, their three children; as well as many nieces and nephews and his best friend Patch “Patchy.”

He had a large loving family and many friends.

Bobby had a great sense of humor and always made friends wherever he went. Even making strangers laugh at any given time. Many people remember him as the clam warden of Freeport, selling at flea markets, and a truck driver where he made many friends over the years. He was commonly known as “pacrat” and was a master of the claw machines and acquired many stuffed animals he brought home over the years.

A celebration of life will be held March 18 at 2 p.m. at 641 Turner Street, Buckfield, Maine, 04220.
