Ronald D. Nichols
AUBURN – Ronald D. Nichols, of Auburn, passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 18, 2023. Ron was born in Lewiston July 20, 1956, the 6th child of Nancy (Johnson) and Harold Nichols. He grew up with 10 brothers and sisters, and moved to Turner when his mother met and married his stepfather Bernard O’Connor.
He was very fond of his time on the Rockameka Farm and loved to tell stories of his time there. Anyone who knew Ron knows he loved to talk and tell a long story. With ten brothers and sisters there were many stories to tell. Ron was a self taught ceramic tile installer and took great pride in his work.
Later in life he lived and worked in Old Orchard Beach where, for many years, he enjoyed beautiful sunrises and sun sets. When he retired he moved to Auburn and began driving a bus for the school department.
Ron is survived by his four daughters Amanda Walsh and husband Allan of Mechanic Falls, Kimberly LaChance and fiancé Scott of Poland, Sarah Nichols and fiancé Trevor of Auburn, Katie Nichols of Lewiston; his only son Tyler Nichols of Lewiston; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Also survived by siblings Susan Bedford and husband Donald, Bobby and wife Sally, Jerry and wife Sandy, Pam Morris and husband Ken, Wayne and wife Tina, Clay and wife Ann, Cheryl Ward and husband Phil, and Brian; along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and two brothers Eddie and Michael.
Visitation Fortin Group / AUBURN Wed. March 1 from 9 to 11 a.m. followed by a funeral in the funeral home at 11 a.m.
