WEST PARIS — West Paris Public Library will host ‘Community Crochet’, a free three-week beginner/intermediate instructional series for all ages beginning Saturday, March 11.

We are proud to welcome Donna Marshall as our facilitator. She learned to knit and crochet as a teen and fell in love with the art of amigurumi crochet (crocheted toys) a few years ago. Donna has experimented with all kinds of ‘yarns’ over the years: acrylic, wool, cotton, jute, hemp, and plastic! Retirement has given her the time to pursue her passion for crochet, a passion she’d like to share with others. Crochet is more than doilies! If you can think it, you can probably find a pattern to make it!  This series will be held in person at the Library.

Classes are from 12:30 to 2 p.m. on the following Saturdays:

• March 11: Learn basic crochet techniques and stitches for beginners. Learn to read a pattern.
• March 17: Choose a pattern to create.
• March 25: Work on individual projects. Troubleshoot any crochet problems.

There is no charge to participate. Participants will need to bring a crochet hook and a ball of yarn.
