POLAND — Registration is open for the summer season at Agassiz Village, a nonprofit overnight summer camp that serves many inner city and low-income youth predominantly living in Maine and Massachusetts.

As a youth development program, AV’s primary goal is to serve youths aged 8-17 through social emotional learning, according to a news release from Courtney Isom at the nonprofit.

The organization is dedicated to raising funds all year round to send children to camp, so they can afford to have a positive and safe camp experience. AV partners with several organizations that work with underserved youth throughout the year. With the help of donors, supporters and volunteers, AV provides free tuition for all families who qualify as parents are only asked to cover a small fee based on income for their child to attend the summer camp.

The overnight camp sessions are being held from July 2-13, July 16-27, and July 30-Aug. 10. Every year Agassiz has a waitlist, so this is a crucial time to register before spots fill up.
