Frances P. Perron

LEWISTON – It is with great sadness the family of Frances P. Perron announces her passing; Feb. 28, 2023 at D’Youville Pavilion, with her husband and children by her side.

She was born in Malden, Mass., on April 3, 1934 to Frank P. and Mary A. (Sheehan) Marino. Fran grew up in several towns surrounding the Boston, Mass. area, and graduated in 1952 from Roslindale High School in Boston, Mass.

She continued to live and work in the Boston, Mass. area until she met and married Paul E. Perron, son of Pierre and Marie Perron, July 14, 1957. They moved to Maine after their second child was born, settling in Paul’s hometown of Lewiston, and had lived many happy years raising their five children there. Her last move was to Schooner Estates in Auburn in 2019.

Mom was a homemaker. She loved taking care of and doting on her children and house, being barefoot, watching TV and movies, and talking. When her sister Marion would visit, it was not unusual for those two to be the last up and they might still be up talking in the morning. She was particularly good with our country’s history and knew a lot about politics.

She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and the ability to find something positive in everyone, and she thought her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the best things in the world.

Frances is survived by her husband of 65 years, Paul, of Auburn; her five children and their spouses, Paul Jr. (and Tami) Perron of Poland, Gina (and Mark) Duchette of Turner, Dana (and Janet) Perron of Turner, Joseph (and KerriAnne) Perron of Lewiston, and Jerry (fiance, Robin) Perron of Bowdoinham; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; her sister Marion Rose of Plymouth, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was sadly predeceased by her and Paul’s parents; a grandson, Mathew Perron; and a great-grandchild, Leopold Duchette.

The Perron family would like to thank all who took the time to care and take care of Frances: Dr Sarah Skelton, CMMC, D’Youville Pavilion’s 2 East and 2 West, Androscoggin and Amedysis Home Health, and Schooner Estates.

The family invites you to a time of visitation on Monday March 13 from 4 to 7 p.m. at The Fortin Group Funeral Home, 217 Turner St., Auburn. A Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated on Tuesday March 14 at The Fortin Group Funeral Home in Auburn, followed by a committal service at St. Peters Cemetery in Lewiston.
