John S. Fogg

AUBURN – John S. Fogg, 89, of Greene, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 2, 2023.

John was a lifelong resident of Greene. He was born on July 5, 1933, the son of George E. and Nellie Wright Fogg. He attended Lewiston schools and graduated from Lewiston High in 1951 where he soon after joined the U.S. Army, serving in Austria.

After his time in the Army, he worked for New England Telephone where he retired after a career of 36 years.

John was a proud lifelong member of Telephone Pioneers of America, NRA, Sportsman Alliance of Maine, VFW Post 11032, American Legion Post 31, North American Hunting Club and Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. He was also a member of the Falmouth Rod and Gun Club as well as the Androscoggin Grange No. 8 and the Masonic Lodge #10 in Monmouth. John was a past member of the Board of Trustees for the Valley Cemetery Association.

John is survived by his brother George and his wife Meryln, as well as nephews Robert and Karin Fogg, and Aric Fogg.

A committal service will be held in the spring at a later date at Valley Cemetery in Greene.
