Le Bon Truc will perform at the Oasis of Music beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15, at the L/A Arts gallery in Lewiston.
Le Bon Truc plays French folk dance music: bourrées, branles, mazurkas, laridés, schottisches, valse, and more. This trio’s beautiful dance music reflects more of what is popular in France than in our northern neighbor of Quebec. Gary Chapin plays many diatonic accordions, Barb Truex plays Appalachian dulcimer, tenor guitar and banjo-ukulele, and Steve Gruverman plays clarinet, bass clarinet, flute and soprano sax.
The Oasis of Music is a weekly music series of performances of roughly thirty minutes, running from September to May. Admission is free, with donations accepted. The musical genres vary greatly, in largely, but not exclusively, acoustic formats. COVID restrictions of optional mask-wearing and social distancing are observed. The LA Arts gallery is located at 168 Lisbon St., Lewiston. For more information, call 207-344-3106.
