The Central Maine Community College baseball team swept a doubleheader with Penn State-Scranton in Dunmore, Pennsylvania, on Friday.
In the first game, the Mustangs (17-3) defeated Penn State-Scranton 7-2 behind Trevor Phelps’ and Garrett Harvey’s combined five-hitter.
Each pitcher struck out four.
Garren Post hit a homer and drove in two runs for CMCC. Colton Frisbie had a pair of hits, and Mason Booker, Rolando Rodriguez Jr. and Brandon Gour each had an RBI.
Mike DeWolfe and Zach Benson had two hits each for the Nittany Lions, while Garrett Walsh had an RBI.
In Game 2, the Mustangs defeated the Nittany Lions 16-4 in a five-inning contest.
Jimmy Reed had three hits and drove in four runs for CMCC. Rodriguez Jr. had three RBIs and Evan Eldridge drove in two runs.
Christopher Letendre, Rodriguez Jr., Elridge and Booker each had a pair of hits. Derek Romain went three innings and struck out for CMCC. Jack Cole and Jeff Meisner also recorded a strikeout in relief.
Five Scranton players had an RBI.
