Barbara Bernard
MEXICO – Barbara Bernard, 86, died Wednesday March 8, 2023, at her residence on Dalton Ave in Mexico surrounded by her family.
Born in Mexico, Maine, on April 25, 1936, she was a daughter of William and Myrtie (Cole) Sinclair. She attended Mexico Schools. Barbara worked at the Rumford High School in the maintenance department and then for MacDonald’s for several years. She was a member of the Mexico First Baptist Church, LeParesseux Snowshoe Club, Eagles Club, Mexico Historical Society (famous for her yeast rolls), and was an avid Elvis fan. She also loved having lunch with the ladies and playing dominos.
Survivors include a son Claflin Packard of Tucson, Ariz., daughters, Florence Murphy of Stratton, Brenda Murphy of Rumford, Belinda Snowman and husband Larry of Dixfield, and Ellen Taylor of Mexico, sisters, Pauline Gotto of Auburn and Joyce Stewart of Mexico, 19 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and four great-great- grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son Martin Packard, sisters, Emily Gauthier and Edna Dixon, brothers, Rexford, Bruce, Harold, Marshall, Thomas and Kenneth Sinclair and a brother-in-law Robert Gotto.

A graveside service will be held in the spring at the Farrington Morton Cemetery in Mexico. Arrangements are under the direction of the Meader & Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., Rumford.
