We had a dozen incorrect guesses for the location of last week’s Mystery Photo, all relating to the Androscoggin River from Rumford Falls to Brunswick, with a half-dozen people guessing it was in Lewiston. However, we received many correct answers, including from our winner, Linda Deane of Livermore, who told us she can see the location of our photo — the Lower Dam on the Androscoggin River in Livermore Falls — from her house. When we called to let her know she had won, she told us we should put her husband, Sterling, in as the winner. She told us: “I showed him the photo and said that I thought it was the dam across the street, but he didn’t think it was, and took a walk down to get a closer look. I think to prove me wrong. He came back and said I was right,” she said and then chuckled. Linda’s name was picked in a random drawing from all the correct entries and she will receive a $20 Hannaford Supermarket gift card.
