100 Years Ago: 1923

A Bath man dug through four feet of snow Sunday and found parsnips which he left in the ground last fall. He says that the ground was so soft and free from frost that he pulled the parsnips up by hand.

50 Years Ago: 1973

The convention is being held March 26 to March 31 and the delegates will be leaving Lewiston Sunday.

25 Years Ago: 1998

(from a Journal photo) Jason Dow searches for any remaining twigs while a batch of sap boils at the Norlands Living History Center’s sugarhouse in Livermore Saturday. The sugarhouse will be open to the public from 10a.m. to 4 p.m. today, as part of Maine Maple Sunday.
