LEWISTON – Robert D. Wilcox Jr., passed away unexpectedly on March 18, 2023, at St. Mary’s Hospital after a brief illness. We would like to thank all his doctors and nurses who took care of him.

He was born in Millinocket to Robert and Karen Wilcox and lived in Virginia where he had many friends. He moved to Maine to be near family. He worked as a private contractor and at Bath Iron Works. Family was the most important thing in Rob’s life. His daughter, Lexie, was the love and joy of his entire life. He was the best dad ever. His most important mission in life was giving her time and attention.

Rob was a wonderful son and a best friend to his mom. He was always there for her.

He was a great skateboarder in his youth. He loved his country and family. He always shared cookouts, board games and once a week family dinners as well as all holidays and special occasions. His brother Steve would often visit from Virginia; there would be family basketball, baseball, games, and so much love shared.

Rob was a kind and compassionate man who was always thinking of others through kind actions. He was a chip off the block of his father, Bob.

Rob belonged to the Slovak Club. He and his dad and brother, Andy, were involved in horseshoes and darts and had many happy times at the club. The Wilcox men were a macho force to contend with; life was sweet and fun and precious, good years of family love and sharing.

We are so sad to lose the one who has been part of our light and love. We will miss him always. He is survived by his mom, Karen, his stepfather, Richard, his sweet daughter, Lexie, his brothers, Steven and partner Amy of Virginia, Andrew and wife Kelly of Lisbon, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was especially close with his uncle Bruce. He was predeceased by his wonderful father, Bob in 2018.

A celebration of life is planned later in the Spring at the Slovak Club in Lisbon Falls.
