Diana Mills Moody

TRINITY, Fla. – Diana Mills Moody, 81, of Trinity, Fla., passed away after a long illness on March 20, 2023. Diana was born in Lewiston, the daughter of Gordon Emmons Mills and Arline Bickford Mills of Auburn, Maine. She was attended Edward Little High School in Auburn, Farmington State Teachers College, and the University of Maine in Orono, where she graduated in 1964 with a BA in Elementary Education. In 1966 she married Augustus J. Moody of Orono, at the High Street Congregational Church in Auburn. The couple lived in New Castle, Del., for a year, then returned to Maine. They lived in Orono for 19 years, then moved to Midlothian, Va., where they lived for 18 years. They moved to Trinity, Fla., in 2004 and have resided there since. Diana taught elementary school until their daughter came along, at which point she opted to remain a homemaker. And she was an excellent homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, birds, sailing, cats and dogs, cruises, walking, dancing, reading, bicycling, margaritas, and spending time in Harpswell, Maine.

Diana is survived by: Her husband Augustus J. (“Gus”) Moody of Trinity, daughter Carolyn M. Sramek, son-in-law Mark Sramek, and grandchildren Andrew Sramek and Ashley Sramek, all of Clearwater, Fla. Oh, and two cats. Her ashes will be interred, at some future date, at a family plot in Harpswell, Maine, where her family had, and has, a cottage on the ocean on Potts Point.

The family also wants to thank the Market Street memory care facility in Tarpon Springs and the AccentCare Hospice Facility in Dunedin, Fla., for their kind, compassionate, and professional care.

The family requests that, in lieu of any flowers, donations be made to The Alzheimer’s Foundation, or to your local ASPCA shelter.
