LEWISTON – Thérèse H. “Terri” Dion, 88, passed away of natural causes on Monday, March 27, 2023, at her home. She was born in Lewiston on Aug. 28, 1934, to Alice (Couillard) Dion and Edgar Dion. She was raised in Holy Cross Parish where she attended elementary school prior to graduating from Lewiston High School. She studied at both Husson College and University of Maine.

As an active member of the church, she followed an avid dedication to charitable acts and worked in Oklahoma as a missionary for a time. Then, she moved to Boston where she pursued a career in the banking industry. In time, she returned to Lewiston to provide care for her aging parents.

She worked decades at Androscoggin Bank, by retirement time, Terri had reached a position of Vice-President and Chief Auditor. During these years, she traveled extensively, never failing to return with gifts for her eleven nieces and nephews. She had many friends and joined social groups after retirement, The Green Ladle being her preferred gathering.

Terri had many interests including reading, quilting, needlepoint, knitting, cooking and paper crafts. For years, she bought high quality cardmaking materials and designed stunning cards that she donated to faith communities, nursing homes and hospice facilities in Maine and Florida. She also had excellent computer skills and found enjoyment in keeping current with world events and favorite sites like Etsy. She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers – Robert and Norman – two nieces and a nephew.

She will be missed by her large extended family, cousins in Québec Province and the friends whose devotion she cultivated along the way.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Church on Wednesday April 5 at 11 a.m. Interment will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home in Lewiston.
