People of all ages can join them as they share their digital and hands-on art-making techniques. In this afternoon workshop, participants can learn more about their process of developing freestyle shoe designs, as well as the tools they use to create such unique (and wearable) art, according to a news release from Elaine Gammon at LA Arts.

Attendees can try air brushes and leather paint to create their own custom shoe designs. Interested participants are asked to bring a pair of white shoes.

White is a Portland-based artist and graduate of Merrimack College with a degree in digital design. He uses art to encourage people to think about what is happening in the world and highlight social issues to inspire unity and togetherness. His art takes many forms, including graphic design and customized hand-painted shoes and athletic footwear. In addition to being an artist, White works as an educator, coach and youth advocate.

Eamon White shows some of his early work March 31 to Julianna Monts at his show, Full Circle, at LA Arts on Lisbon Street in Lewiston. The show traces a circle from White’s earliest drawings and paintings, through his printmaking and shoe design pieces, and finally his work as an educator, where he has shared his passion for shoe design. White’s show also features work from his father and grandmother. White credits the time he spent creating art with his family as his most significant artistic influence. Andree Kehn/Sun Journal

White’s “Full Circle” show, which includes drawings, paintings, prints, and customized shoe designs, is on display through Saturday, April 15, at the LA Arts Gallery.
