Ralph Read of Lewiston fishes for trout and salmon Monday on Lake Auburn. Read said Monday that this was his third time fishing the lake since the season opened April 1. “This has always been my favorite lake.” The lake is slowly bouncing back from high levels of phosphorus that killed a lot of the fish about 10 years ago, Read said. “We are waiting patiently, but the lake has started to bounce back.
