AUBURN — Each year, April is set aside as National Poetry Month, a time to celebrate poets and their written words.

The Auburn Public Library plans to host Maine poet Sarah Carlson at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, via Zoom. Carlson will present her poetry, paired with photographs from her adventures in the natural world.

The words and images find each other as part of Carlson’s writing process. Her poetry is full of love, grace and healing. Her background as an educator comes into play as she creatively shares what she learns along her way, according to a news release from Donna Wallace, the library’s Adult Services manager.

Carlson has published three books: “The Radiance of Change” (2018), “In the Currents of Quiet” (2020), and “Tender Light Softens: When the Deep Places Speak” (2022).

Signed copies of all three books are available for purchase online at shermans.com and ddgbooks.com.

Registration is required, to register, visit auburnpubliclibrary.org or call the Reference Desk at 207-333-6640, ext. 4.

Participants will be emailed a Zoom link the day of the program.
