To the Editor:
The Upton Historical Society has been dormant for several years. There have been no formal activities since the summer of 2020. Some of the officers believe it may be time to try for a resurrection.
The officers have decided to have an informal meeting Saturday, April 22 at 2 p.m. at the Upton House (260 Thistle St., Upton). The meeting will determine whether there is enough interest in the Society to try to get it out of hibernation and again have meetings and elections, recruit members, open the museum to the public, and other activities.
If you have any interest, thoughts, or suggestions regarding the resurrection and continuation of the Society, please attend the meeting to show your support.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
