To the Editor:

Join us on April 21 at the West Parish Congregational Church to hear Adam Leff of Gould Academy share the work that he and Gould students are doing with refugees in the Lewiston area. As Gould’s Civic Engagement Coordinator, Adam and students reach out during weekly trips to engage with and tutor refugees from Afganistán and Ukraine, as well as many areas of Africa. Working with Maine Immigrant and Refugee Services and Bethel Rotary, furniture has been donated and transported to newly housed families. Some children were even taken skiing!

Adam is excited to share this outreach work with the Bethel community, and students will share their experiences and personal growth stories. Members of the Bethel community have also been involved in this effort as well. Perhaps there are many ways to welcome and support new Maine neighbors that could use volunteers. We will find out!

The potluck supper will begin at 5 p.m., and the presentation at approximately 5:45 in the dining room (downstairs). All are welcome!
