Larry David Shaw
RUMFORD – Larry David Shaw, 67, passed away on Jan., 20, 2023 in Indianapolis, Ind. Born in Rumford on June 20, 1955, he was the son of Larry and Gloria Shaw.
Larry grew up in Connecticut until he was 15 years old and made lots of friends along the way. He was a graduate of Rumford High School, class of 1973. He loved fishing, camping, live music, photography, he camped and attended the Indy 500 race over 20 times. He loved to share that experience of the race with any family and friends that made the trip to Indy. Larry was also fond of the memories of time he spent in Alaska. Larry got his love for playing pool when his grandfather built a pool table in the family basement and taught all the grandchildren how to play. Larry had a pool table in his living room for many years and enjoyed playing with his wife Liz.
Of all the different jobs he worked at, working at Geary’s brewery in Portland was one of his favorites, along with working at the shop near the race track in Indianapolis, where he added decals on various different race cars.
Larry was married in the Eastern Promenade at the Gazebo to Liz Mason with their grandson Nickolas as the best man and niece Elizabeth Shaw as the maid of honor.
Survivors include his wife Liz Mason of Indianapolis; David Shaw of Rumford and Andy Shaw of Lewiston; father Lawrence Shaw of Rumford. Other survivors include three brothers, Steven Shaw and wife Sandy of Sabattus, Jonathan Shaw and companion Natasha of Arizonia, Christopher Shaw and wife Ronda of Rumford, a sister, Mary Bradley and companion Todd Wardwell of Mexico; many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Larry was predeceased by his mother Gloria Shaw; a grandson Nickolas David Shaw; and a brother, Charles Shaw.

A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at the Ridlonville Diner, 310 Main Street, Mexico, Maine.
