Joan M. Ringrose
NEW PORTLAND – Joan M. Ringrose, 70, passed away peacefully March 20, 2023. She was born to Theodore and Elizabeth Roberts of Lisbon Falls.
She worked in a woolen mill, and then did piecework and wood working. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting hats and little booties, and she loved riding over the mountain, camping and fishing. A good old country girl. She was an animal lover through and through.
She was a member of the grange, and a member of United Bikers of Maine for 34 years. She also helped in the founding of Maine Motorcycle Riders Statewide (MMR Statewide) and she also helped in starting a campaign for cancer children called (Life through their eyes). MMR Statewide patch holders are very proud to carry on in her memory.
Joan is survived by her significant other Erick Butler Jr.; and her son, Erick Butler III and his significant other, Theresa Cox; and two sisters, Diane Bickford of Lisbon Falls, Linda Gould and husband Robert of Bowdoin; and many nieces and nephews; as well as grandnieces and nephews; and 13 children she had taken in and raised.
She was predeceased by her parents; and sister, Theresa Temple.
There will be no service, as she only wished to have a celebration of life.
The celebration of life will be at the North New Portland Fairgrounds, located on Route 146 in North New Portland. Celebration of life will take place May 2, family only, from noon to 1 p.m.; family and friends, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
