LEWISTON – Joyce DeCormier, 68, was born Oct. 3, 1954 to Keith and Perdita (Woodcock) Morrison and passed away April 9, 2023 after a long struggle with multiple sclerosis, with family by her side.

She attended schools in Auburn and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1972 and the University of Maine – Orono in 1976

Joyce married William DeCormier on Aug. 20, 1977. She taught school for a year and then worked in the family businesses- Morrison and Sylvester and Portland North Truck Center. She retired due to illness and lived for 21 years at D’youville Pavilion in Lewiston, where the staff on 4 West took excellent care of her. They became her extended family.

Joyce was predeceased by both parents; and brother, Jeffrey.

She is survived by her siblings Richard (Francie) Morrison of Poland, Rebecca Stevens of Auburn, John (Ludy) Morrison of Soland, James (Sheila) Morrison of Auburn, and Jennifer (Jason) Potter of Auburn. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews; and former husband, Bill, of Windham.

There will be a graveside service for the family and a celebration of life for friends and family at a later date.

The family wishes to thank the staff at D’youville Pavilion and Androscoggin Health and Hospice for their excellent care.
