George A. Thurlow Sr.

POLAND – George A. Thurlow Sr. of Poland, born July 2, 1928, passed peacefully in his home on April 15, 2023 with his family by his side.

George was an honorable American, serving in the military and fighting in the Korean War. He spent his adult life as a truck driver, and tending to his work horses.

He loved traveling with his family, camping, Sunday drives, going for ice cream, and loved going to Saturday night dances with his wife. He had a heart of gold and lived a fulfilling 94 years.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Effie Thurlow, of 69 years.

He is survived by their nine children; and many grandchildren.

A service will be held on Friday April 21 at 1 p.m. at Chandler Funeral Home, 26 West Dwinal St., Mechanic Falls, with burial to follow at Pine Point Grove Cemetery in Poland.
