CMCC SPLITS TWINBILL: The Mustangs won the first game 6-4 but fell to Bay Path 10-8 in the second game in Auburn.

Central Maine Community College pitcher Olivia Scott struck out 11 Wildcats in the opener. She allowed eight hits and one earned run in seven innings for a complete-game victory.

Emily Sanfacon and Paige Ouellette paced the Mustangs’ (24-7) offense. Sanfacon was 3 for 4 with two RBIs, and Ouellette doubled, singled and scored two runs. Sarah Poli also had two hits, and Oxford Hills graduate Olivia Gallon tripled and scored.

In the second game, Bay Path (8-20) took the lead with a seven-run fifth inning and held on to salvage a split.

Emma Scheeran had three hits, including a triple, and scored three runs for the Wildcats. Alexandra Henderson tripled and drove in two runs, and Grace Ramsey had a pair of hits, including a double.

Olivia Scott, who struck out three in three innings of relief, tripled and drove in two runs for CMCC. Ouellette had another double and scored two more runs, and Dirigo graduate Alyvia Perreault doubled and drove in two runs. Former Lewiston standout Sage Cormier also had a pair of hits, as did Emily Wormwood.

BEAVERS, OWLS SPLIT: UMaine-Farmington and UMaine-Presque Isle each won a game of their doubleheader in Presque Isle.

The Beavers (2-19) took the opener 8-2 as Lisbon graduate Kiley Merritt, Mackenzie Dyer and Katie Hammer each had three hits to pace a 14-hit attack.

Olivia Paradis opened the scoring with a solo home run in the top of the second, and UMF scored at least one run in the remaining five innings. Oxford Hills graduate Christa Allen doubled and drove in a pair of runs.

Beavers pitcher Carleigh Schievink held UMPI to two runs over seven innings to earn the complete-game win.

In the second game, the Owls (11-18) scored five runs in each of the first two innings en route to a 13-4 victory.

Zoe Stewart homered, doubled, droved in four runs and scored twice for UMPI.

Merritt had another good game for UMF, driving in a pair of runs and score another.

COLLEGE BASEBALL
MAINE 2, HARTFORD 1: Jake Rainess hit a lead off home run for the second straight game and the University of Maine baseball team beat Hartford 2-1 on Saturday in Orono.

Matt McElwain also homered for the Black Bears (20-12), making the score 2-0 in the second inning. Rainess finished with three hits, including a double.

Caleb Leys pitched six scoreless innings to earn the win, allowing four hits, while striking out 11 and walking three.

Harrison Eng homered to lead off the ninth for Hartford (2-27). Robert Chaney took the loss, allowing two runs on seven hits in seven innings.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE
THOMAS 16, UMF 5: Mary Larochelle netted five goals to lead the Terriers (4-7, 3-2 NAC) past the Beavers (0-10, 0-5) in Waterville.

Lauren Bartlett and St. Dominic Academy graduate Emily Wallingford each added a pair of goals for Thomas.

Emma Bourget and Ruby McMinis scored two goals apiece for UMaine-Farmington.
