BETHEL — Green Up Day 2023 will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 6.
The Bethel, Greenwood and Woodstock conservation commissions will work together to host the event. They ask you to come with friends, family or co-workers to get local roadsides cleaned for the spring.
Bethel volunteers meet at Davis Park; Greenwood volunteers meet at the Greenwood Town Office; and Woodstock volunteers meet at the Bryant Pond ball field.
If you want to clean up closer to home or at a different time, please let them know what section of road you cleaned so they can include you in the thank-you. Please wear hard-toed shoes, bright clothing and gloves. Bags will be provided. Lunch, provided by the Mahoosuc Land Trust, will be available at the Bryant Pond ball field. If you can contribute desserts, please email [email protected].

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
